The Uvita Sector is the main entry point to Marino Ballena National Park. This area features the famous Whale's Tail sandbar, sandy beaches, and boat tour departures.

Located near the center of town, this is the most popular part of the national park. The main gate provides direct access to Playa Uvita and the iconic tombolo formation. You will need a credit or debit card to pay the $6 USD adult entry fee.

Because the gate is just a 10 to 15-minute walk from town, it is highly accessible. Most guided boat excursions depart directly from this beach section. Be sure to check the tide schedules before you arrive.

This natural sandbar extends into the ocean and closely resembles a whale's tail. You can walk out onto the rocks and sand to view the coastline. The path is only exposed during a 4 to 6-hour window around low tide. Always check the daily tide charts before visiting to ensure the path is safe.
